Police Rescues Kidnapped Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Registrar, Kill Four Kidnappers

Rivers State Police Command said a special tactical outfit set up by the Commissioner of Police to tackle the menace of kidnappings in the state on Friday  safely rescued Mrs. Lilian Davies, the Registrar of Ken  Saro Wiwa Polytechnic Bori, who was kidnapped on 17/11/2015 while on transit along Bori-Yeghe road.

A statement by DSP. Ahmad K. Muhammad, Police Public Relations Officer, said she was rescued at the bush around Kaani in Khana Local Government.

“The rescue team during the operation had a fierce gun duel with the kidnappers resulting to the death of four kidnappers.

One AK47 rifle, one locally made pistol, one magazine, 25 rounds of 7.62 live ammunition and five cartridges were recovered at the scene after the operation,” the statement said.

“Criminal elements in the area are advised to relocate from Rivers State as the police are determined, more than before, to take the onslaughts to their hideouts.”
