
Lack of portable drinking water supply in the four local government areas that make up Ogoni in Rivers State will soon come to an end as the Hydro-Carbon Pollution Remediation Project has initiated plans to provide about 80 communities with access to potable drinking water before the end of 2025
It revealed that currently 40 of such facilities have been completed already.
The Project Coordinator, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey disclosed this during the 2023–2025 midterm stakeholders’ engagement and scorecard presentation in Port Harcourt
He disclosed that the clean-up of 1,700 hectares of oiled shoreline being undertaking by the organization is now 53% completed.
